According to the US Census Bureau, Pennsylvania is the state that produces the most chocolate. The state's best-known chocolate manufacturer is The Hershey Company, but Pennsylvania is also home to the Wilbur Chocolate Company, itself the producer of 150 million pounds (70 million kg) of chocolate per year. Pennsylvania's chocolate production is about half of the United States' total chocolate output.

More about chocolate:

  • The US is the country with the highest import rates of cocoa beans, importing more than 20% of the world's cocoa bean supply in 2008-2009.

  • As of 2008, Germany had the highest per capita chocolate consumption rate. Germans consumed chocolate at a rate of 11 pounds (5 kg) per person each year.

  • The Ivory Coast is the top cocoa exporter in the world. In 2008-2009, it exported more than 20% of the world's cocoa.
